PROM: There is really no place for a freshman at the senior prom. It’s not about you. It’s for the seniors, and the senior girls will resent you for taking a senior boy out of the running to either ask or be asked by one of them. There are never enough boys to go around. If you go, that will leave some senior girl having to ask a sophomore boy. A sophomore boy with one arm, who isn’t able to slow dance (obviously) and will only care about being at the after party. Yes, slow dancing is acceptable at the prom.

I’m getting ahead of myself, but when it’s time to go to the prom, the best option, if you aren’t going out with anybody (ha), is to go by yourself. You will have a much better time. Trust me on this. You will understand—and thank me—later.
